La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum Review

I have yet another really amazing product to show you today. As you probably know, I’m a huge fan of La Roche-Posay in general, I started using their products 5 years ago and I never really had a change of heart.

I used to have so many underskin acne that sometimes I couldn’t sleep on either of the sides, so I slept on the back like a mummy. I started doing a whole lot of research and decided to firstly create a routine that I will always come back to in the evening and in the morning. I swear having a routine is the first step to see the change in your skin.

It probably took me 2-4 months to actually see the results but I swear a whole lot has changed since I started using their products! I’ve never in 5 years had 1 underskin acne which is unbelievable!! I also have super shiny and greasy skin so I personally use the majority of their acne-prone skin products and I want to try something new but I’m scared my skin will break out again. But, to be honest with you I don’t even want to, why changing something if it works for your skin right?

I also did a lot of research when it comes to serums, firstly I haven’t got any clue why are people talking so much about serums, but as I started reading I discovered there are so many advantages when it comes to them that I just had to have it in my collection and guess which one I got?

Of course La Roche-Posay, but I got two of them, one is La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum and another one is La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5.

So let’s first talk about what serums actually are okay?

What is Serum?

It is a concentrate of active ingredients, which targets specific skincare concerns, and the ingredients are powerful and made up of smaller molecules. The level of active ingredients is higher than in a usual face cream since the heavier oils and ingredients have been done away with. So while the latter could have around ten percent of active ingredients, the former has a whopping seventy percent or more!

What are the benefits?

  • Your skin texture will improve drastically thanks to the collagen and Vitamin C content, becoming firmer and smoother, leading to visibly younger-looking skin.
  • There will be lesser spots, scars, pimples, and other marks, as they start lightening with regular use of a serum, particularly one with plant concentrates being used. This is done in a holistic manner, without the use of harmful peels and chemicals.
  • You’ll see a reduction in the size of open pores, which in turn give rise to lesser blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Under-eye serums also have visible benefits, with the reduction of dryness, dark circles, and fine lines. They are an instant pick-me-up for brighter eyes.
  • With the use of serums, there will be lesser inflammation, redness, and dryness instead, the skin will look dewy fresh and moisturized.

When should I apply Serum?

You can use skin care serums at night and during the day. In the daytime, if you’ve got dry skin, wash your face and pat it dry, then layer your skin with a serum that quenches the skin’s thirst for nutrition, wait for a few minutes for it to settle down. Follow up with a moisturizing sunscreen of your choice. If you can cleanse and rinse off this layer once in the afternoon, and reapply it, it would be ideal. For the night, try not to layer too much and instead let your skin breathe. Most night creams tend to be quite concentrated anyway, so either uses them or a night serum, not both. However, the key is not to overuse so don’t apply it night and day.

La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Serum

Ideal for those with wrinkles, dull skin, and uneven tone, the fresh, non-greasy essence melts quickly into the skin, releasing a surge of beneficial ingredients to leave the face feeling softer, more hydrated and glowing. Pure Vitamin C harnesses anti-wrinkle and antioxidant properties, lending skin visible radiance and glow, while Hyaluronic Acid plumps skin with moisture to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Deeply hydrating and skin-smoothing, it also contains Salicylic Acid to gently exfoliate away dead skin for a brighter, more uniform tone and texture. Its dose of Thermal Water, with exceptional mineral diversity, delivers soothing, restorative, and protective benefits.

Skin looks brighter and moisturized with smoother-looking lines. Works as an optimal makeup base.

La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum

Specially formulated to treat dehydrated skin showing signs of aging, including loss of volume and fine lines, the anti-wrinkle treatment utilizes two different sized molecules of Hyaluronic Acid to infuse skin with moisture; the larger molecule works on the surface while the smaller molecule penetrates deeper to plump skin with moisture and ‘fill out’ the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Helping skin recover youthful bounce and suppleness, the La Roche-Posay serum delivers reparative and re-plumping properties. The minimalist formulation also contains Vitamin B5 and Madecassoside, which work in synergy to improve the skin’s natural repairing process while encouraging collagen.

After use, skin feels intensely hydrated with a fresher, smoother, firmer feel. Dermatological testing ensures it is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Conclusion

I had to wait until the end of the month to really try out both of the serums and write an honest review. The first thing I would like to emphasize is that I’m absolutely over the moon about the fact that the brand I most trust with skin products has put out yet another two that I’m using on a daily basis and am now raving about them.

I used them twice a day and all I can say is that my skin looks so much radiant, soft and the serums didn’t clog my pores, that was something I was really worried about but that’s just because I somehow had an idea that serums are sticky and they’re not!

Another thing that has a point is the smell. They both smell… I would say fresh! They instantly give you a boost of energy which I need in the morning, to be honest, and calm you down in the evening!

I have also started using Gua Sha plate that’s been all over the internet lately while applying serums. I’m still working on the right technique but I already see results!

I really hope you learned something about serums in general and I really hope some of you decide to give these two a try!
