Lancome – Idole Perfume Review

“Here’s to the ones who dream big. A new generation of conquering women. Strong. Outspoken. Empowered. Here’s to the leaders of tomorrow, daringly reaching for the sky and opening new horizons. Here’s to the new idols, paving the way for others. Declare the time is now, be your Idole.”

– Lancome

Seeking for the perfect perfume that suits your personality is exactly like searching for your style, it takes a while. I went to my local drug store to search for some scents that I would love to leave behind as I walk by and make an impression. I smelled so many of them that my head started to hurt haha. I was on a cashier when all of a sudden I saw the new Lancome in the corner of my eye. Just when I was about the leave the store I said to myself okay, let’s just go and take a look at it and see if it suits me. Well, if I’m writing a whole blog post about it, then you have to know how much I loved it. I’m particular when it comes to perfumes just because I love sweet scents but not too sweet, and even if it’s a perfume I want to feel comfortable while wearing it, and I also want people around me to feel comfortable and not choking whenever they’re near me from the strong scent of it.

The story behind Idole is female empowerment, and nothing says female empowerment more than three strong women working on it. Perfumers Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina, and Nadege Le Garlantezec created the sweetest floral-chypre scent which gives you a confidence boost to conquer the world.

The face of Idole is gorgeous Zendaya which left a mark on me in a series called Euphoria. I think she embodies confidence and is the perfect girl for the inspiration behind Idole.

As soon as I got out of that local store, I went immediately on Notino and search for Lancome, imagine how happy I was when I found out that they’re selling the Idole there as well. I got myself 50ml, but you can also get 75ml or 25ml.

A quick tips on where to apply the new Idole:

1. spot – your wrist,

but you shouldn’t put it close to your hands. We wash our hands throughout the whole day, and that way, we can wash the perfume away.

2. spot – behind your ears,

or under the jawline, to make an impression when you hug or kiss someone special.

3. spot – inner side of elbows

If you want your smell to be even stronger you can also put it on the inner side of elbows, and some people even put it behind their knees, just because if they’re walking past people that are seated they can leave them wondering what was that angelic smell?

What you should NOT be doing:

The most important thing when it comes to applying the perfume is NOT to rub the fragrance. If we apply the scent to the points as I’ve described, those points are already hotter than the rest of our body just because the skin there is thinner. So if you’re rubbing, for example, your wrists together, it’s going to break the molecules, and the scent will get eventually worse. I know that in some photos you can see me simulate rubbing my hands, but that’s jut because my hands are awkward and I don’t know how to work with them most of the time haha.

You can also spray the perfume in front of you and walk through that perfume cloud. I’ve never really done that intentionally. It’s funny because I sometimes don’t look where I’m pointing, and I miss my whole body, imagine that, and then I have to hunt those little perfume drops, just because I don’t want to spend another pump.

I created a little photo session, and I balanced the minimal Idole bottle with a little bit of drama. The bottle is stunning but if you know me, then you know I’m not much of a minimalist.

I hope you liked this blog post; I would recommend this perfume to everyone who loves sweet scents that last through the whole day.
