It’s crazy to even think that people used to walk barefoot all the time no matter what the weather was. I remember I used to run around barefoot all the time when I was a child, and I still do it whenever Ziga and I visit his grandma in the countryside.
I must say I was guilty of buying myself too many shoes on a budget and then finding myself wearing just one pair for everything. But for about three years now, I became a person that puts lots of money into quality shoes. I have had enough of painful feet, shoes that are too large or too small for my feet, shoes that have such a thin sole that you can feel like you’re walking barefoot and so on.
Shoes were made to protect your feet, enable you to walk around wherever you want, and provide comfort when you are on your feet for long periods.
Dr. Michael Ratcliffe explains the pros and cons of finding the right shoes to walk in:
“Correctly fitting footwear should have little or no negative impact on our health. Poorly chosen and incorrectly fitting footwear can impact negatively on our feet. Shoes with higher heels, poor grip, and inappropriate or absent fastenings have been linked to impaired walking, balance and fall, while foot constriction within shoes can create paresthesia (pins and needles) or temporary numbness. If footwear is incorrect, then short term problems can become long term ones with an unwillingness to pursue activities such as walking or even affect the ability to work in a chosen occupation with consequent mental, emotional and physical implications.”
Since I have a few pair of my most comfortable footwear, I decided to share it with you, and maybe you’ll feel inspired to get some yourself at Spartoo.

I have to say Dr. Martens are probably my favorite shoes I have ever got myself. I am that type of a person that does research whenever I know I’m about to invest some money into a quality piece. You would recognize them in a heartbeat, they have the most distinguished air-cushioned sole, top shape welted construction and you probably know all about that yellow stitching.

I still remember the first time I got Converse. I swear these sneakers must be one of the most comfortable footwear ever! I bought myself the first pair, and now I got like four different pairs allready, just because I love wearing them so much. They go on every style, and I just feel like they make every style seem so effortless.

My feet met their new lover this summer when my friend Marusa convinced me these are the most comfortable slippers, and let me tell you; she wasn’t wrong. I wear them all the time! I think it’s a shame I’m even buying other slippers because I know I’m never going to wear another one than Birkenstock.

I love how high heels elongates your body, and I have to say buying high heel espadrilles is a way to wear heels and be comfortable at the same time. Another thing, if you look at these, you will see they have an adorable strap detail that goes around your ankles. I love them!
