Roses Are Red Violets Are Blue…

So, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and as long as I can remember I have always loved the day, we celebrate love. I’m hopeless romantic, but I don’t go to extremes where you light up hundreds of candles and in the end, burn your house to the ground. ? I think that the phrase: ‘’Everyday should be a Valentine’s Day’’ is slightly overrated, there’s no such thing as that. Yes, you should treat every person with respect and love every day, but come on, you really want to eat those chocolate hearts every day? I don’t think so.?

When I was in high school I was kind of nerd and being even more awkward that I am now, so dating boys was kind of not a part of my everyday routine, if you know what I mean. I’m not saying I didn’t have crushes, off course I did, but I just didn’t have the guts to even make an eye contact with them, let alone approach them and say hello. (A little fact: my biggest crush for the last two years in high school, was and still is my boyfriend!?)

For four years, I remember spending my Valentine’s Day with my best friend Sara. We never complained or cried about not having boyfriend’s, well not because we didn’t want to, but because A. We had our mouth full of ice-cream, so there’s that and B. We were just happy hanging and watching Mama-Mia for the third time in a row people, yes we were really that obsessed! I would say, that we kind of broke our ritual, for Valentine’s day, for not hanging as much as we did, but not because of our boyfriends, but because life happened. You don’t always have the time to hang with every single human being on Earth and that’s all right, but when you do, make sure to really listen to them, and treat them how you would want to be treated. ❤

You don’t always have to have boyfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day, you should celebrate it with someone you feel connection with, may that be yourself, friend, dog, cat, cousin’s friend, pizza it doesn’t really matter!
